As a member of the life cycle assessment team at SCS Consulting Services, Dr. Mansell conducts life cycle assessments (LCAs) for a wide range of industries and clients using popular commercial models such as SimaPro and OpenLCA, as well as custom built analysis software. Studies are conducted to help companies design products and services to minimize environmental impacts, optimize operational efficiencies, satisfy customer requests, engage stakeholders, and support comparative ecolabels and environmental product declarations. He has conducted numerous life cycle assessments, analyzing the environmental impacts of various building materials and related products, advanced power generation systems, and recycling systems. He has also investigated a wide range of direct and indirect impacts to the environment and human health associated with numerous industrial production systems on behalf of SCS Consulting Services, including paper, lumber, steel, aluminum, zinc, glass, biopolymers, plastics, and more.
